¨ç If we like it or not, most of us in the
industrialized world ¨è need to be reliant on money. It may not be a perfect ideology, but as an economic system ¨é that countless people around the globe have
prospered from, capitalism has its advantages. Yet, if it does go wrong, it can be disastrous. When the Japanese real estate
market collapsed in 1991, people
lost a substantial amount of capital and consequently ¨ê stopped investing money in the stock market.

Utah, one of the 31 states that currently allow the death
penalty, has recently made execution by firing squad legal again since
abolishing the practice in 2004. It will be the only state other than Oklahoma
to permit such a protocol. While death by firing squad will not be the primary
method of capital punishment, it will serve as a fallback for lethal injection.
The need for alternatives is increasingly becoming an issue for several
reasons. For one, drugs used in lethal injections are in short supply due to
the fact that many manufacturers have declared a moral objection to their use
in executions and are refusing to sell them to prisons. Moreover, there have
been recent cases where the drugs have proven ineffective and others where the
prisoners were thought to have experienced pain.
¨ç Firing squads will supplant
lethal injections as the main form of capital punishment.
¨è Utah will be the first state
to make the firing squad legal since it was abolished in 2004.
¨é US prisons are seeking
substitutes because there is a lack of lethal injection drugs.
¨ê Recent cases have shown that lethal
injection is unquestionably humane and efficient.

The earliest home video game console was released
in North America in 1972. The Magnavox Odyssey came with two handheld
controllers and could be connected to any television set with ease. The display
capabilities of the Odyssey were very limited compared to the impressive images
produced by modern systems. The company¡¯s solution to the Odyssey¡¯s black and
white output was to provide buyers with a set of colored overlays to attach to
the television screen. However, despite its limitations, thousands of families
purchased the system. As it turned out, both kids and adults enjoyed the
simple, easy-to-learn games available for the Odyssey despite _____________.
